Tuned Ford F-150 runs a 3.4-second sprint

Since Ford no longer produces the much-demanded Raptor R version of its F-150 pickup, Texan tuning shop Hennessey Performance has its hands full making replacements. The greatest of them so far is called Venom 800, and it boasts a dynamic performance on par with some supercars.

Working with a regular F-150, Hennessey ramps up the engine output to 811 PS (800 hp / 596 kW) and 1,026 Nm (757 lb-ft) of torque. This is accomplished with the help of a air-to-water intercooler, a sports exhaust system and improved intake/fuel system components. All of the above plus some ECU tweaks enable the truck to snap off the start line and reach 96 km/h (60 mph) in just 3.4 seconds, as well as complete a quarter-mile streak in 11.7 seconds.

The driver gets six-piston Brembo calipers to better handle the extra power. The suspension benefits from Fox coilovers and BDX components, and the ground clearance goes 6 inches (154 mm) up from stock. Stainless-steel bumpers with brush guards at both sides result in safer off-road driving, and new 20-inch wheels shod in 35-inch tires provide adequate traction on soil.

Only 250 Venom 800 packages will be released in total. The pricing details are pending.
