Meet the BMW Concept XM, an M-Series hybrid SUV

BMW has held a presentation dedicated to its Concept XM in Miami Beach yesterday, M Performance’s first standalone car and a part-electric one, at that.

The company emphasized that all future BMW M models would have the same front clip design, including the overemphasized grille. The Concept XM will eventually reach production as a flagship M SUV with the same interior design cues as the iX model. Like in that one, there is a single curved display uniting the dashboard and the infotainment in one screen.

The BMW Concept XM uses a 4.4-liter V8 and a single electric motor to get 750 PS (740 hp / 552 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. It offers 80 km (50 miles) of WLTP-rated all-electric range.

Production in the United States is scheduled to begin next year.
