Porsche admits Macan EV was a mistake, brings back ICE version
The legendary sports car maker says a complete electrification was not worth pursuing.
The company had already begun designing an all-electric version of its Macan crossover – here are the first official pics and a video of it. However, rumors emerged that it stumbled upon major design and engineering issues that made such a car less than viable.
It now looks like Porsche will be refreshing the current Macan generation to keep it around for a while longer while it looks for alternatives. At the very least, we should be looking forward to multiple hybrid powertrain options coming soon. The full-fledged EV may or may not get released later.
