Nissan GT-R retires in Japan

The current Nissan GT-R generation is coming to an end with the car no longer available even on its domestic market of Japan.

The company has released a statement thanking all GT-R buyers for their purchase. It pointed out that the production of the GT-R lineup had lasted 18 years.

The news isn’t exactly surprising, because multiple final editions were announced last year. What’s more interesting is whether there will be a successor or not. Nissan had envisioned a fully electric car as a replacement for the GT-R, but the current market conditions suggest that it may not be a good idea anymore.
