Novelties
Hong Kong car manufacturer Byton has used the IAA Frankfurt 2019 as an opportunity to showcase its first production vehicle: an electric SUV called the M-Byte. Pre-ordering will open in early 2020, and the prices are going to start from €45,000.
Main exterior traits include a razor-like metallic bar at the front end that divides the headlights in two sections, a low roofline, and c-pillars that appear elevated over the car body.
Still, the killer feature of the model is its 48-inch large, curved dashboard. You can manage data and media functions using voice commands, gestures, hardware buttons, or sensor panels located on the steering wheel and the center console.
In its most basic implementation, the Byton M-Byte comes powered by a 272-PS (200-kW) electric motor plugged into a 72-kWh traction battery. Its driving range is estimated at 360 kilometers (224 miles). Higher trims benefit from a larger 95-kWh battery and a stronger 408-PS (300-kW) engine. These have 435 km (270 miles) of manufacturer-estimated range.
