Cute Japanese Kei car becomes Godzilla

Nissan GT-R body, McLaren racer paintjob from the 1980s and all of 660 milliliters of engine displacement – this clinically insane Daihatsu Copen tuned by Liberty Walk manages to bring all of the above together.

The Japanese tuner team must have had a good laugh releasing the styling package for the tame Copen back in 2017. A year after that, Kei cars cosplaying the Godzilla surfaced at numerous shows to win over audiences with their detailed and clean looks. The example depicted here is the most recent one, and it looks especially gorgeous with its red-and-white Marlboro wrap, a finely cut aerodynamic kit and plenty of fine details. The centerlock wheels and the red steering wheel in the cabin are our personal favorites.

The lowered urban subcompact still comes powered by a teensy three-cylinder engine rated at 64 hp (48 kW) and 92 Nm (68 lb-ft) of torque. Its displacement volume amounts to microscopic 0.66 liters – but does it really matter that much when everyone around you smiles upon seeing your car and takes out their phone to share the pics with friends?
