Wuling Xingchen turns out yet another Baojun 530 in drag

SAIC-GM-Wuling has come to the Auto Shanghai expo with an international crossover SUV named Xingchen. Before you get excited, note that it is a very close relative of the popular Baojun 530 model.

Like the 530 and its sister models, the Xingchen utilizes a 1.5-liter turbo four-pot to hit the front wheels with 147 PS (145 hp / 108 kW) through a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The top speed is 170 km/h (105 mph), and the fuel consumption varies from 7 to 7.7 liters per 100 kilometers (United States: 30.5 – 33.6 MPG).

The soft-roader comes in at 4,594 mm (15.07 feet) long, 1,820 mm (5.97 feet) wide and 1,740 mm (5.71 feet) tall with 2,750 mm (9.02 feet) separating the axles. Tires come in sizes 215/60 R17 and 215/55 R18.

Interior photos have yet to arrive, but the manufacturer promises us a sunroof, a rear parking sensor, and all-around view cameras. Price-wise, it is reasonable to expect something close to the 70,800 Yuan of the original Baojun 530.

Given the popularity of the model, other Chinese marques such as MG might come out with their own versions of it later. Keep an eye out for these if you are interested.
