Ford Performance shows what an electric Gymkhana could be like

In the latest video by Ford Performance, Vaughn Gittin-Jr. shows off performing stunts in a Mustang Mach‑E 1400 while cruising along the picturesque landscapes of Faroe Islands. The name ‘Gymkhana’ is nowhere to be seen, but you get the vibe.

The racing driver begins driving like a normal tourist taking in the scenery, but then leaves the city and goes on a drift rampage. He visits a new underwater road junction – a local place of interest – and charges up batteries from a giant wind generator.

It is obvious that Ford wanted something to replace the Gymkhana show after Ken Block left the company for Audi. Having said that, the short video looks much more like a feature film than an extreme stunt show. The story revolves around a mysterious parcel that Gittin-Jr. receives from a woman he doesn’t know upon his arrival to the islands, and includes conversations between him and the electronic assistant of his Mustang Mach‑E 1400. It also makes every effort to highlight the environmental friendliness of the electric car.
