The custom Nichols N1A is McLaren M1A revisited

Nichols Cars has presented the N1A, a super-roadster inspired by the track-only McLaren M1A. Only 100 units will be made, and the first 15 will be dedicated to the victories scored by the McLaren MP4/4, which Steve Nichols, founder of the company, helped design.

The newcomer flaunts a vintage-style body made from carbon fiber. The chassis is aluminum, and there is no ABS or power steering in the base package – both come optional and cost extra.

A proprietary Nichols Cars engine provides 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) from seven liters of displacement. With the car itself weighing as little as 900 kilograms (1,984 pounds), it should fly like a rocket. The transmission is manual by default, but automatic is also available. Later on, the company plans to offer the N1A with Chevrolet V8 engines tuned to 466 PS (460 hp / 343 kW) and 527 PS (520 hp / 388 kW).
