Cupra Leon flaunts a street-racing body kit

A Cupra Leon hot hatch outfitted with an aero kit by JE Design set a Sachsenring lap record of 1:32.82 last October. Inspired by this accomplishment, the tuning company has now released a similar kit for the regular Leon.

The package is called Widebody RS and includes several aero components, lowered suspension and 19-inch wheels. The biggest highlight is a complex rear wing said to produce up to 180 kg (400 lbs) of downforce at 200 km/h (124 mph). There’s also a front splitter with an adjustable section in the middle, flared fenders, side winglets and skirts.

The whole kit is manufactured from regular wear-resistant plastic and finished to match the rest of the car body (optional). The side mirror covers are an exception: you can order these made from genuine carbon fiber plastic.

As for the wheels, the 19-inch option is the default one, but you can also pick an 18-inch or a 20-inch set. To make sure the new rims fill out the arches properly, JE Design suggests dropping the ride height by 20 mm (0.8 in) at the front and 10 mm (0.2 in) at the rear.

All parts are already available for ordering. The €2,800 rear wing is the most expensive item on the list.
