Tata Curvv debuts in production form

Indian automaker Tata Motors has attended the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 with a production-ready sample of its compact coupe-like crossover Curvv. It will reach the showrooms in April with a petrol, a diesel and an electric powertrain to choose among, Autocar India reports.

The finalized car looks not that different from the concept version. It still has pull-out door handles and slimmed-down headlights. The concept’s video cameras have been replaced with regular side mirrors, but that’s about it.

Size-wise, the CUV is 4,308 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,630 mm tall with 2,560 mm between the axles and 422 liters of trunk space. The base spec gives you LED lights, surround-view cameras, 18-inch wheels, two 10.3-inch displays and a wireless charging pad.

Customers in India will be choosing between two ICE options, a CNG one, and an EV. One of them is a 1.5-liter diesel rated at 113 PS (111 hp / 83 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. The other two remain to be announced. Rumors say the petrol engine will be a 1.2-liter turbo capable of 125 PS (123 hp / 92 kW). A bi-fuel powertrain running on petrol and condensed natural gas (CNG) is also in the works.

There will be two transmission options – manual and dual-clutch automatic – but no AWD. The rest of the details are pending.
