Porsche to unveil its fastest EV so far on March 11

Porsche will be displaying its fastest electric vehicle ever in Zuffenhausen, Germany on Monday, March 11, 2024. The details are unknown, but the teaser image shows what looks like the Taycan that set a new Nürburgring record not long ago.

The car is shown from the side, providing a good look at its silhouette with a large trunk lid wing. It resembles the wing worn by the Taycan EV that lapped up the North Loop in 7 minutes 7.55 seconds in January this year (see video). In doing so, it surpassed both the standard Taycan and the Tesla Model S Plaid.

The automaker never revealed how it managed to improve its specifications. Rumor has it the company used a still-unannounced “GT” spec with more than a thousand horsepower at its disposal. If so, it would make it a direct competitor of the Model S Plaid.

As for the standard Taycan lineup, it received a facelift a month ago. The Turbo S flagship had its motors dialed up to 952 PS (940 hp / 700 kW) and its sprint time shortened to 2.4 seconds. At the same time, the whole Taycan range ended up with larger batteries and more trim options to choose from.
