Audi puts a launch date on the Q6 e-tron

Audi has shared a teaser image of its Q6 e-tron SUV and set the reveal date for March 18. The car is in the same class as the second-gen Porsche Macan from a month ago. In its longest-range spec, it will cover around 600 km (373 miles) on a charge, WLTP-rated.

The carmaker posted photos of various camouflaged Q6 e-tron prototypes around a year ago, so many of us expected it to debut in 2023. However, the launch was postponed for unknown reasons. It now looks like the shipments will not begin until at least the second half of 2024.

The Q6 e-tron will be the Ingolstadt company’s first vehicle running on the PPE chassis and 800-volt architecture. Modern charging technologies will let its 100-kWh battery go from 10 to 80 percent full in half an hour or less.

It is assumed that the base spec will have 375 PS (370 hp / 276 kW) with the opportunity to boost the output briefly to 396 PS (391 hp / 291 kW). The S version is expected to make 483 PS (476 hp / 355 kW) in standard mode and 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) in Sports mode. It should also be able to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in 4.5 seconds. Along with the regular Q6 SUV, a coupe-like Sportback modification will also be released.

Audi has already shown us the interior with three displays on the dash. A heads-up display with Augmented Reality features and a machine-learning voice assistant are also on the official list of features.
