Hyundai i30 gets another facelift in Europe

Hyundai has once again refreshed its i30 offering for the Old Continent, landing the hatchback, the liftback and the wagon with slightly updated looks and more driving assist features in the base spec. The production is set to begin in Czech Republic next month.

Starting with the obvious, the radiator grille pattern is new as are the lower front apron and the fog light bezels. Buyers may now choose from seven new finishes, while the total adds up to 12. Those interested in the sportier N Line version get special dark accents on the bumpers and the side sills.

Inside, new trim combos involving different kinds of fabric, leatherette and Alcantara are the only noteworthy addition. Optional gloss-black accents are available, too, and both the interior and the trunk area come with standard LED lighting.

In its cheapest form, the new i30 has a 4.2-inch digital dash screen, three USB-C ports and front/rear parking sensors. Emergency braking and lanekeeping are also included, while adaptive cruise control and a larger 10.25-inch digital dash are not.

Hyundai says nothing about the powertrains, which likely means the old three- and four-cylinder options rated at 120 and 160 PS (118 and 158 hp; 88 and 118 kW, respectively) remain as they are. Both engines receive assistance from a 48V starter-generator and can be obtained with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
