Audi stays committed to EV future, CEO says

According to Audi CEO Gernot Döllner, the company has no intentions to reconsider its current electrification strategy just because the market started losing interest in EVs.

He stressed that the brand will continue down the path of complete electrification no matter what and is not interested in acting on short-term events. He explained that in 2026, a major change in the car market structure is expected that will see EVs gradually become ubiquitous and traditional ICE cars becoming expensive and obsolete. Once the reversal begins, finding parts to produce and maintain ICE cars will become increasingly harder as the entire industry will keep directing its efforts toward EVs. In the end, ICE cars might turn out no longer viable to make at all.
