Lanzante to unleash the extreme Red Bull RB17 on the streets

Red Bull Racing plans to produce only 50 units of its RB17 supercar, none of them even remotely street-legal, but UK-based firm Lanzante says it can convert a few of them for the roads if there is enough interest.

The company’s portfolio already contains street conversions of such iconic racecars as the McLaren P1 and Senna, Pagani Zonda and Huayra R, and recently also a couple of Porsche 935. We would imagine the RB 17 getting the same overall scope of modifications – road-legal lighting and rearview mirrors, a certified exhaust system and a proper body kit. The 4.5-liter naturally aspirated V10 is due some attention as well – Lanzante will want to make it more durable and reliable in the long term. On the other hand, the tuner emphasizes that the converted car will remain a track weapon first and a road runner a distant second.

The availability dates and pricing details remain to be announced. Similar projects typically cost hundreds of thousands of euros to complete, but we imagine this not being a pressing issue for most RB17 buyers.
