Ford Mustang GTD slapped with resale ban

The $325,000+ Ford Mustang GTD is considered both the most powerful and the priciest Mustang on the market today, and the automaker wants to make sure it doesn’t fall into the hands of flippers, Autoevolution reports.

Specifically, Ford plans to hand-pick the customers who get to buy these cars and to forbid them from reselling them for at least a few years after acquisition. With a rumored total production run of just 300 units in 2025–2026, the company has received over 7,500 preorders in the United States alone (plus some in Europe). As such, it now has to decide who gets a GTD and who doesn’t. In any case, flippers who buy automotive exotics just to resell them at a profit aren’t welcome.

In addition to the resale ban, the buyers will have to sign another agreement – an NDA prohibiting them from revealing certain details about the Ford Mustang GTD. Just what details these are is unknown, but all hopeful owners are asked to record a video telling the company why they deserve being picked for the short list.
