RSR Project churns out another fine Porsche 911 restomod for $375k

U.S.-based tuning specialist RSR Project has presented yet another posh restomod running on 1986 Porsche 911 underpinnings. The car has been stylized after the German marque’s first racecar, the Rennsport Rennwagen (RSR), which hit the track in 1973.

Starting with the engine, the tuner expands the stock block by 0.2 liters to 3.4 liters, raising the output to 238 PS (235 hp / 175 kW). New camshafts and a modern ECU result in improved throttle response, and the car should definitely feel sporty on the track given its small size and weight. Having said that, we don’t have any acceleration times to go by.

New shock absorbers in the suspension and four-piston brake calipers also help with achieving a more up-to-date driving experience, RSR says. 15-inch aftermarket wheels come wrapped in Michelin TB-15 tires.

On the outside, the one-off commission wears a gorgeous Gulf Oil livery alongside new bumpers, hood cover and rear spoiler. The interior has been retrimmed with tartan fabric and received a vintage dashboard, a new headliner, a racing-style gear lever and a safety cage.

RSR is accepting further orders for similar conversions, with the buyers choosing from three displacement options – 3.2, 3.4 and 3.5 liters.
