Mitsuoka M55 gets a limited production run
The well-received Mitsuoka M55 Concept from the last year has now been officially approved for production in Japan.
According to the tuning company, it had received over 1,300 preorders for the car inspired by the Kenmeri Skyline (and not the Dodge Challenger, despite the obvious visual cues). However, it has only found a factory willing to assist with making 100 examples of it so far. It is unknown whether any more M55 units will be made later.
For all its stylistic gloss and flair, the base car is actually a simple Honda Civic hatchback. It retains its standard 1.5-liter engine rated at 182 PS (180 hp / 134 kW) and manual transmission.
The M55 Zero Edition is already available to order in Japan starting from ¥8,100,000. Would-be buyers need to enter a lottery for a chance to win one, and the first deliveries won’t be made until May 2025.
