Jaguar Type 00 previews the British marque’s future

The bold and overly stylized Type 00 is still a concept at this time, but Jaguar promises us a mass-produced model in late 2025.

The car is packed tightly with bizarre design solutions, like parking cameras concealed beneath brass-colored fender trims. The rear end sports a grille on it with slim brake lights inside. The tailgate is opaque, but a see-through roof helps compensate for the missing sunlight – if not the visibility.

A brass-trimmed center console that runs 3.2 meters (125 inches) long divides the interior in two. The driver and the front passenger both enjoy access to a large infotainment display. The UI and the backlight can be customized on the per-user basis, and any displays not currently in use can be folded down onto the dash panel. With natural stone slabs and textile trims all around, the Type 00 is decidedly a luxury vehicle.

Jaguar hasn’t disclosed any powertrain parameters yet, but it mentioned that the platform was specifically designed from scratch for the reboot of the brand. It is also official that the production car will have four doors instead of two and cover up to 770 km (478 miles) on a charge. Replenishing another 322 km (200 miles) will be a matter of 15 minutes.

It’s so ugly. Jaguar is gonna kill itself. They’ve gotta make a modern E-Type.
