Ford announces Puma EV in Europe

Ford Europe has opened its preorder books for an all-electric Puma “Gen-E” crossover set to ship next spring.

The battery-powered Puma relies on a single e-motor driving the wheels with 168 PS (166 hp / 124 kW) and 290 Nm (214 lb-ft) of torque. It needs full eight seconds to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) and cannot exceed 160 km/h (100 mph). A 43-kWh battery pack gives it up to 376 kilometers (233 miles) of range in a mixed-cycle scenario.

On the outside, the new Puma resembles its North American cousin, the Mustang Mach-E. It stands out from its gas-powered counterpart thanks to a much larger 574-liter trunk and an added 43-liter frunk. Inside, center console and infotainment software are the biggest updates.

The production will start soon in the city of Craiova, Romania.
