SCG 004 hits production

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) has finally begun producing its 004S and 004CS supercars that it announced several years ago (see video). The company boasts that it managed to make the interior safe without a single airbag – and even passed the crash tests obtaining the necessary certificates.

From the design perspective, the model 004 features a carbon-fiber monocoque cabin mounted on a racing-grade chassis. It packs a 6.2-liter turbocharged V8 sending 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) to the wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

The 004S is positioned as a daily driver, while the 004CS straddles the middle ground between road car and endurance racer. It has Bilstein three-way adjustable racing-grade shocks, a front axle lift, enlarged brakes all around and semi-slick tires, as well as a more sophisticated body kit.

Both versions come with a three-seat cabin where the driver’s seat is installed in the front middle position. The standard trim is rather generous on creature comforts with power seats, HVAC, an Apple CarPlay/Android Auto-enabled infotainment system and a reversing camera already included. Those who would like even wider customization should check out the top trim called Founder Series.

SCG says it will assemble the cars manually in Detroit. It still can’t say how many units will be produced and how much they will cost. The first examples are scheduled to ship in early 2025.
