Recaro bounces back from bankruptcy

Recaro, one of the world’s best known vendors of car seats, filed a bankruptcy application in July this year. Fortunately for us all, it was never enacted – the company should be back on track soon.

The charitable investor is none other than Proma Group, an Italy-based manufacturer of automotive components. It runs a total of 25 industrial sites across three continents and employs a staff of 5,000 workers. Among other things, Proma Group produces seat structures, so its interest in saving Recaro should be clear.

Rumor has it that Ineos had to pause the production of its Grenadier SUV lineup a couple of months ago specifically because it couldn’t get a shipment of Recaro seats. If so, then we may expect the Grenadier production to continue now that the vendor’s financial troubles have been sorted out.
