USA puts names on its most lethal cars

According to iSeeCars, Tesla is the likeliest to get you killed in one way or another.

According to a study of fatal traffic accidents that gathered data from 2017 through 2022, Elon Musk’s cars were tied to 5.6 deaths per 1,000,000,000 miles. Kia follows closely with 5.5 deaths, Buick rounds off the top three with 4.8, Dodge comes fourth with 4.4 and Hyundai lands fifth with 3.9.

The average fatality rate in the United States amounts to 2.8 deaths per billion miles, iSeeCars claims. That’s a statistically significant difference, and it highlights just how unsafe some brands can be to drive.

Viewed in terms of specific models, the compact-sized Hyundai Venue crossover has scored the biggest death toll with 13.9 fatalities per the same distance. That’s five times the average rate.
