Tuners make Suzuki Jimny 40% stronger

Harrop Engineering, a tuning company based in Australia, has released a supercharger kit for the Suzuki Jimny. You can buy it for 10,990 AUD, which roughly translates into 6,900 USD.

In its stock form, the Japanese compact off-roader sends 102 PS (101 hp / 75 kW) and 130 Nm (96-lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. Adding a TVS900 supercharger, a water-to-air intercooler and a high-end air intake results in a boost to 144 PS (142 hp / 106 kW) and 168 Nm (124 lb-ft) of torque.

The big caveat is that the tuning can only be performed on an automatic Jimny. Manual transmission struggles to handle the extra torque and may break down, Harrop says. Then again, this is far from the only supercharger package being offered for the Jimny. For instance, Twisted sells a similar kit in the UK that promises even bigger power gains.
