Spruce up your Citroen Ami EV with this vintage-inspired styling kit

David Obendorfer, designer from Italian coachbuilder Caselani and Citroen specialist, has unveiled an interesting conversion kit for the Ami e-quadricycle inspired by mid-20th century cars.

The kit consists of glass-fiber panels stylized to resemble the corrugated bodywork of the iconic Citroen Type H (HY) minivan. It went into production in France in the distant year 1947 and stayed there until 1981. All panels can be installed in a DIY fashion using common tools. Buyers can choose from nine standard color options or request a custom finish for a premium.

Things stay stock under the hood, which means the Ami EV still sends 8 PS (8 hp / 6 kW) to its wheels. It cannot go any faster than 45 km/h (28 mph) and makes do with a small 5.5-kWh battery pack. On the upside, it is recognized as a quadricycle, which means it can be driven by drivers aged 14 and older in most European countries.

The Type-Ami conversion kit seen here costs €5,000. If you would like a new Ami with the kit preinstalled, set aside €13,000.
