Koenigsegg’s latest hypercar is a $3M gilded carbon affair

Koenigsegg has shared some images of its latest creation, the Jesko KNC Gold Leaf. The RHD hypercar comes dressed in naked carbon fiber and flaunts 24-carat gold leaf accents. CarBuzz says Adrian Portelli, a billionaire from Australia, handed over around U.S. $3,000,000 for it.

The letters KNC in the name stand for “Koenigsegg Naked Carbon”. Rather than coating the body panels with lacquer or paint, the company subjects them to a special high-temperature treatment and polishes afterwards. As a result, you can see the iconic carbon weave patterns with your naked eye. As for the yellow accents, they are genuine gold and mostly used to highlight the smaller trim bits, like aerodynamic shrouds and winglets, side mirror stalks, etc.

The base car is a Jesko Attack (see video). As such, it commands a 1,600-PS (1,578 hp / 1,177-kW) powertrain and is largely track-focused, although you can drive it on the street. The suspension and the body kit are tuned to deliver the best lap performance, not the smoothest ride.

Koenigsegg celebrated its 30th birthday last year, so this special Jesko was its way of saying goodbye to a long festive season.
