Daihatsu Copen pretends it’s a miniature Porsche 911 racer

Japanese wheel boutique StanceMagic has attended the recent Tokyo Auto Salon with a first-gen Daihatsu Copen stylized after a particularly badass Porsche 911 endurance racer.

The windshield, the side mirrors and the pillars at the front seem to be the only parts left stock. The whole body looks drastically different thanks to a glass-fiber aero kit. It replaces both bumpers, all four fenders and the entire rear end with the roofline, resulting in a much sportier silhouette than the Copen has ever been capable of. A humongous rear wing cements the impression.

As you may have guessed, the car wears a vinyl livery inspired by the iconic Porsche 911 RSR built for the Le Mans marathon. It still retains its 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine at the front end, and the drive stays on the front wheels, so don’t go expecting it to handle anywhere close to a real Porsche.

A peek inside flared fenders reveals multi-spoke alloy wheels shod in racing tires. StanceMagic specializes in making wheels like these, so you can order a similar set in a variety of sizes and finishes. The brakes are upgraded at all four corners, and the suspension is about as low as it can go on a Copen.

Rounding off the build is an overhauled cabin with suede upholstery, bucket seats and an actual roll cage. We don’t know how much power the engine outputs, but it has to be more than the stock model’s 64 PS (63 hp / 47 kW), since this isn’t a Kei car anymore.

The so-called Coperche 811 GT-K is a unique vehicle built for the Tokyo Auto Salon, so you can’t buy it. However, StanceMagic lists similar Porsche-inspired body kit options on its website, so you can inquire there.
