Jetour Zongheng G900 Concept revealed in China

Chery sub-brand Jetour has introduced a full-size SUV called the Zongheng G900 in China.

Coming in at 5.3 meters (207 inches) long with a slanted roofline, the soft-roader is poised to become the next flagship of the automaker’s Zongheng lineup. It is still being referred to as a concept, but some technical specifications are already known.

A serial-hybrid powertrain called CEM-O provides the power. It incorporates four electric motors jointly rated at 1,632 PS (1,610 hp / 1,200 kW). A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine outputs 211 PS (208 hp / 155 kW) acting as a power generator on the go.

Unlike some cybernetic trucks we know, the Zongheng G900 can actually traverse deep water. Jetour claims it can sail for as long as 40 minutes with the top speed capped at 8.5 km/h (5.3 mph) in this mode. Air-ride suspension and four-wheel steering are included as standard.

Things look just as interesting on the charging side of things. The G900 has 800-volt wiring all around and corresponds to China’s 6C charging speed standard, which implies it can have its battery charged to the max as many as six times per hour. The company claims it only needs six minutes to go from 20 to 80 percent full.
