VW Amarok goes next-gen in South America

Volkswagen has announced another generation of its Amarok pickup, but it won’t be international and is still years away.

Developed by the South American branch of the company, it will go into production in Argentina. $580,000,000 has been allocated for the upgrade of the Pacheco vehicle plant, which is currently still producing the first generation. It received a facelift not too long ago (see video), and it will have to do until the new truck arrives in 2027.

South Africa is another market where the Amarok is still alive. It’s the second generation running on the same platform as the Ford Ranger.
