Check out the world’s only Audi S2 with a V10

The Audi S2 was a great forerunner of the S lineup when it was introduced. It was an affordable and sporty car with a 2.2-liter turbo five-pot under the hood. Fast-forward to the present day, and a tuning company from South Africa decided to find out how extreme of an S2 it could possibly build.

The result is being advertised as the world’s first S2 with ten cylinders under the hood. Since the tuners couldn’t get their hands on a crate V10, they ended up actually buying a whole Audi R8 V10 Spyder and extracting its 5.2-liter engine for the project. They then spent many months making the modern powertrain work with the outdated electronics of the 30-year-old S2. It ended up with a new exhaust system and ECU in the process.

To spruce things up on the exterior side of things, they used a custom body kit inspired by Prior Design. Once again, the original kit was hard to find, so they commissioned a local metalworker to improvise one. Air suspension was installed, and the interior received an overhaul with red and white leather. A modern audio system rounded off the impressive project.
