Changan has posted the first photos of a thoroughly redesigned CS55 Plus SUV (otherwise known as the Uni-S). The company calls it a fourth generation, although the differences are largely aesthetic. The production starts later in Q3 2025.
The front fascia has changed the most, gaining a flatter and larger radiator grille with a new pattern. It still has no bezel, but looks nothing like the old version. The headlights are almost upright, and the same goes for new taillights. The rear spoiler and exhaust tips are new as well.
Coming in at 4,550 x 1,868 x 1,675 mm large with 2,656 mm between the axles, the new CS55 Plus is just a little bit bigger than its predecessor (the wheelbase stays the same).
Inside, the formerly separate 10.25-inch and 14.6-inch screens now form one display unit. The multimedia system runs on the latest version of the Tianshu operating system, and Changan claims that the UI/UX are as modern as possible. There is also a new steering wheel with programmable buttons and a transmission lever mounted at the base, freeing up space on the tunnel.
Only one engine has been announced so far. It’s a familiar 1.5-liter, four-cylinder BlueCore mill rated at 192 PS (189 hp / 141 kW) and 310 Nm (229 lb-ft). Changan claims it’s efficient enough to run 1,000 km (621 miles) on a full tank.
Previously uploaded certification data suggested that there would be another, 147-PS (145-hp / 108-kW) version of the SUV, but it hasn’t been announced yet.
