Car Tuning
Legendary car designer Franco Sbarro attended the Geneva Motor Show of 1984 with a most extravagant project car built on a Ferrari 308 GTB chassis. Fast-forward four decades, and the one-off build can be yours.
The three-door classic ended up with an all-new body looking unmistakably Italian and a 2.9-liter V8 installed between the axles. The mid-engined Super Eight has a five-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, and while 240 PS (237 hp / 177 kW) may not seem much by modern standards, it is quite adequate for what it is.
Ferrari has also apparently donated its brakes and double-wishbone suspension for the build. As for the interior, it was thoroughly redone, and in a good way – it looks way more comfortable than anything the Prancing Horse made back in the ‘80s.
The Bring-a-Trailer listing points out that the car was sold into private hands shortly after the Geneva show. It then ended up in the Sbarro Museum and was later acquired by a collector from Switzerland. It is now being offered as a proper city car registered for street use in Europe and the USA.
The bidding is currently at $110,000 with three days left on the clock.
