Lixiang a.k.a. Li Auto has announced the domestic pricing of its smallest all-electric crossover, the i6. It starts from 249,800 CNY and comes with a wide assortment of options including an extra front motor. Maxed out, it costs 277,800 CNY – slightly more than a barebones Tesla Model Y.
The company calls the i6 its “smallest” vehicle so far, but it barely fits into the mid-sized category with the dimensions of 4,950 x 1,935 x 1,655 mm (193.4 x 75.6 x 64.7 inches). Despite having a generous 3-meter (117.2-inch) wheelbase, it is strictly a five-seater by design with no option for three seat rows.
The exterior and cabin look more or less like those of any other Li Auto. For instance, the dashboard houses two identical 15.7-inch screens for the infotainment and the front passenger. The digital dash is projected onto a 16.8-inch area of the windshield, but you can also find the main numbers on a tiny screen in the middle of the steering wheel. Yet another display, sized 21.4 inches from corner to corner, is mounted at the ceiling for the back row occupants.
In its most restrained form, the i6 EV comes equipped with a single motor driving the wheels with 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) and 425 Nm (313 lb-ft) of torque. This spec needs 6.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph). Adding a rear-axle motor bumps the total output to 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW) and 660 Nm (487 lb-ft) of torque, slashing the sprint time down to 4.5 seconds.
Both variants come equipped with the same 87.3-kWh battery. It gives you 720 km (447 miles) of range in the RWD version and up to 660 km (410 miles) in the AWD version.
The Launch Edition spec includes nine airbags, air-ride suspension, an ADAS package running on Nvidia Thor hardware, automatic door closers and a decent 8.8-liter fridge. Ventilated/massaged seats and up to 20 audio speakers are also listed as standard. Paid extras include 21-inch wheels (up from the standard 20 inches) and two exclusive body paint options.
