Fiat Grande Panda proves bug-ridden, launch pushed back to 2025

Fiat’s newest Grande Panda hatchback won’t be coming to the market late this year as promised, the company just revealed. It may debut in January 2025 or later.

Apparently, the automaker has encountered difficulties optimizing the software for the EV version of the car, which is set to be released first. Similar issues plagued the Citroen e-C3 when it went on sale, owners reporting constant error messages from various electronic systems. The e-C3 is based on the same platform and uses the same technology as the Grande Panda.

Right now, Stellantis is working hard on an emergency software update for the e-C3. A large-scale recall will be announced once it is ready. Fiat says it doesn’t want a recall of its own, so it would rather postpone the launch until the bugs have been ironed out.
