2021 Nissan Navara shows up on video

Nissan has shared a short film dedicated to the history of its Navara/Frontier pickup and simultaneously teased us its facelifted version coming up on November 5, 2020.

Chances are good that the truck will get LED-based headlights, a large radiator grille and its model name spelled out in large letters at the front. Engine availability will be market-dependent, for instance, customers in Thailand will get it with a brand-new 2.3-liter twin-turbo diesel rated at 190 hp (142 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. The old 2.5-liter diesel will leave the lineup for good, but the seven-speed DCT will stay.

The EU spec received its update last summer, landing with the abovementioned diesel and six-speed manual, as well as a NissanConnect infotainment system with an 8-inch touch-enabled display.

The U.S. spec of the Nissan Frontier hasn’t been announced so far, but rumors claim it may be based on the automaker’s state-of-the-art 3.8-liter V6 engine paired up with nine-speed automatic transmission. It might also get the same suspension springs as the discontinued Mercedes-Benz X-Class.
