Renault 5 Turbo 3 debuts as a widebody restomod

Facing the strict environmental laws of today, carmakers are increasingly abandoning the ICE car market – and this is when tuners step in with their beautiful, petrol-scented classic car revivals.

This restomod of a 1980s-era Renault 5 is a work of Legende Automobiles. The tuner made a completely new body for it largely using carbon fiber and taking care to preserve the original appearance. The fenders and wells are expanded to incorporate larger wheels: 16-inch ones at the front and 17-inch ones at the rear.

The headlamps are now LED-based, and there is an elongated red roof spoiler in the back. Red accents also adorn the mirrors, the pillars and the wheels.

The interior is admittedly less period-accurate with its modern digital dash, steering wheel and seats. On the upside, there is a two-zone HVAC on board, as well as a roll cage. A four-cylinder turbo under the hood produces 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW), so there is a reason for the safety cage.
