Lynk & Co’s first electric SUV goes on sale in China

Hybrid carmaker Lynk & Co has launched its compact-sized Z20 SUV in China. Unlike most of the company’s previous models, it is fully electric and coming to the market in three variants normally priced from 138,900 to 153,900 Yuan. There’s a time-limited 3,000-Yuan discount running right now, so deduct that if you’re buying soon.

Sized at 4,460 x 1,845 x 1,573 millimeters L/W/H, the crossover has 2,755 mm of wheelbase. It runs on the same platform as the Zeekr X SUV, which isn’t surprising since both brands are controlled by Geely. However, while the X has a middling drag ratio of 0.28, the Z20 boasts a sleeker profile with 0.25.

In its Chinese domestic specification, the Z20 comes equipped with a single electric motor driving the rear wheels with 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW). A 62-kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack delivers 530 km (329 miles) of CLTC-rated range. A local classification system for EV charging speeds places the car at “–4.5C”, which basically means you can fully drain and recharge the battery 4.5 times in a single hour – given ideal conditions, that is. In reality, you’ll need 15 minutes to go from 10 to 80 percent.

A peek inside reveals a squared steering wheel, standalone dash and infotainment displays sized 10.2 and 15.4 inches across, and a HUD.
