IM by MG makes it to Australia

SAIC Group and Alibaba Group from China founded an all-electric vehicle brand called IM (“Intelligence in Motion”) in 2021. It has reached the shores of Australia this week.

The new EV brand will be known Down Under as “IM Presented by MG Motor”. That’s quite an overlong and confusing name if you ask us. Perhaps the Chinese execs reasoned that the average Australian wasn’t familiar with the IM brand, but has known the formerly British MG for decades. With both badges now controlled by the same group in China, it shouldn’t make too much of a difference.
