Citroen C3 Aircross presents detailed specs and pricing

The C3 Aircross compact crossover announced by Citroen in April this year will be coming to Europe with petrol, hybrid and all-electric powertrains to choose among. The EV version will start from €27,400 in France, making it the cheapest electric car of its class in the EU.

According to the newly revealed specifications, the crossover is 4,390 mm (171.5 inches) long with 2,670 mm (104.3 inches) between the axles and over 200 mm (8 inches) of clearance. Despite its modest size, it will be available in seven-seater form with smaller folding seats in the third row. This version will only have 40 liters (1.4 cubic feet) of trunk space with the seats up. The five-seater has way more luggage space – 400 liters (14.1 cu. ft.) with the seats up and 1,600 liters (56.5 cu. ft.) with them folded down.

In its most basic form, the car will utilize a 100-PS (99-hp / 74-kW) engine in tandem with a six-speed manual transmission. The hybrid gets a superior 1.2-liter engine turbocharged to 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) and a small-time electric motor delivering 28 PS (28 hp / 21 kW) straight into the dual-clutch transmission. Citroen reckons that owners will be able to make around 50% of their daily trips without ever having to fire up the main engine.

As for the EV, it gets 113 PS (111 hp / 83 kW) from just one motor and up to 300 km (186 miles) of driving range from a 44-kWh battery pack. Charging it from 20 to 80 percent will take 26 minutes. Later on, the company plans to introduce a 400-km (248-mile) variant.

The petrol version of the CUV starts from €19,400 in France, and the hybrid can be ordered from €25,500.
