AC Schnitzer works its tuning magic on the BMW i4

As the era of total electrification is looming closer each passing day, conservative-minded tuning shops risk running out of business. AC Schnitzer obviously doesn’t want that fate, as evidenced by the tuning program it just launched for the all-electric BMW i4.

The exterior of the Bavarian sedan gets a front splitter, side winglets for the front bumper, spoilers on the roof and the trunk lid and quarter-panel trim bits. For wheels, you can choose between AC1 (5-spoke, 2 finish options, 19/20 inches) and AC4 Flow Forming (dual-5-spoke, 2 finish options, 20 inches only). Spacers are available to help the rims fit perfectly within their arches, and in-house springs can be used to drop the ride height by 20-25 mm (0.8-1 in).

Interior niceties include aluminum pedal pads, a footrest out of the same metal, a keyholder and a black drive mode dial. The powertrain stays untouched, which for the single-motor versions means rear-wheel-drive and either 285 or 340 metric horsepower (281 or 335 U.S. hp; 210 or 250 kW, respectively). The dual-motor M50 spec delivers a total of 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW) to its four wheels.
