Reports: Audi to launch its petite EV as soon as 2026

Multiple reports from Germany quote Audi CEO Gernot Döllner saying that the company's long-anticipated small electric car will reach production next year – a whole year ahead of schedule.

The automaker’s industrial facilities in Germany are already undergoing an upgrade to handle the production. Once out, the still-unnamed small Audi EV will be offered as a zero-emission alternative to the A3 lineup (seen here).

This puts us in the mind of the Volkswagen ID.3, but we hope it won’t have much in common with that unappealing and conceptually outdated car.
