BMW M240i outperforms M2 with Manhart tuning tweaks

Every BMW sports car is a capable track rocket straight off the assembly line, and the M240i is no exception. Still, if you feel like squeezing the most potential out of it, Manhart is the tuner to go to.

The German company has devised an upgrade program for the latest M240i that allows its 3.0-liter inline-six engine to output 496 PS (489 hp / 365 kW) along with 633 Nm (467 lb-ft) of torque. This is accomplished by installing a new turbo kit and reprogramming the transmission control unit to help with the increased torque. To put things into perspective, the range-topping M2 maxes out at 500 Nm (369 lb-ft).

In addition to the above, the tuner offers new 20-inch dual-spoke wheels finished in white for the car, a carbon-fiber aero kit and a full-body vinyl wrap with sporty decals. You can drop the ride height using KW coilovers and enhance braking performance using new calipers and rotors from the Manhart catalog.

The package seen here is called MH2 500 II and is already available for ordering. Should there be enough demand, Manhart says it will release Stage II and Stage III tuning programs for the M240i in the future.
