Kia unveils the PV5 commercial lineup

Kia’s latest light commercial vehicle lineup is called the PV5 and is based on a simpler version of the automaker’s E-GMP platform. The vans will become available in South Korea in late 2025 and go on exports next year.

The PV5 has a highly flexible, configurable interior trimmed with wear-resistant materials and loaded with all kinds of modern options. Among other things, the driver gets an infotainment system with two displays 7 and 12.9 inches large. Regardless of the trim level, the model offers plenty of storage space and ships with handy accessories for ease of use and maintenance.

Speaking of which: the PV5 comes in passenger minivan (MPV) and cargo van (LCV) forms. The MPV can be optioned with either three seat rows or just two, so that you get lots of trunk space in the back. The commercial van is still vastly better in this regard, fitting up to 5 cubic meters of cargo (176.6 cubic feet) depending on your chosen wheelbase and roof height.

Last but not least, the PV5 will be obtainable as a single-cab flatbed truck you can mount all kinds of modules upon. Kia also promises a particularly deluxe “executive van” version sometime down the line.

The powertrain is standard across the entire range and uses a single front-axle motor rated at 163 PS (161 hp / 120 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. Battery sizes start from 43.3 kWh in the base trim version, while higher trims get 51.5 and even 71.2 kWh. The biggest battery pack is good for approximately 400 km (248 miles), Kia reckons.
