Exotic Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X crops up on sale

1 out of 40 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-440 MR sedans is up for bidding in the UK right now.

The FQ-440 MR Edition (see video) debuted 11 years ago, celebrating the Japanese marque’s 40th anniversary on the UK market. Out of the 40 examples made, this one was number 29 as evidenced by a serial number plaque in the cabin.

Every car shipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine upgraded with a superior air intake, a new turbocharger and different fuel injectors. IT delivered 440 PS (434 hp / 324 kW) to the wheels through a six-speed preselector DCT, the only transmission available for the model at the time.

Alcon heavy-duty brakes, Eibach lowering springs and 18-inch BBS wheels made it look like a serious rally racer. The interior was also upfitted with heated seats, climate control, cruise control, sat-nav, and an audio system with a subwoofer. Last but not least, Mitsubishi replaced the regular headlights with particularly bright Xenon lamps.

The Evo X is now on sale in as-new condition with only 12,000 km (~7,450 miles) of range under its belt. The last maintenance was seven years ago, but the seller claims the car passed its technical inspection flawlessly last fall.
