CATL comes up with a groundbreaking battery design for PHEVs

Chinese battery company CATL has unveiled Freevoy Super, a new lineup of traction batteries meant to revolutionize the plug-in hybrid market.

Innovative materials and a patented chemical composition of these new cells enable drivers to get up to 400 kilometers (248 miles) of range from them, surpassing some results shown by purely electric cars.

In addition to their superior capacity, the new power cells are said to be compliant with the 4C rapid charge standard. It means you will be able to get 280 km (174 miles) of range from just 10 minutes of charging.
