Avatr 06 previewed ahead of Q1 2025 launch

Avatr, a Chinese car brand co-founded between Changan and CATL with support from Huawei, has shared some images of a new executive saloon called the 06.

The car looks stylistically in line with every other Avatr vehicle out there, but with minor deviations. For instance, the horizontal DRL bars now sit inside of C-shaped headlight sections. The bumpers are new as well, and there is a pronounced spoiler on the trunk lid. As for the rearview cameras instead of mirrors, they may or may not make it into production.

The model is sized 4,855 x 1,960 x 1,450 mm large (189.7 x 76.6 x 56.7 inches) with a wheelbase of 2,940 mm (114.9 inches). The certification data mention three powertrains so far – a hybrid and two EVs.

The range-extender Avatr 06 gets a 1.5-liter turbo engine burning petrol for 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) and a single e-motor on the rear axle driving it with 314 PS (309 hp / 230 kW).

The base EV makes do with just one RWD motor, but packs more power than the hybrid at 343 PS (338 hp / 252 kW). The flagship spec enjoys dual motors, AWD and 598 PS (590 hp / 440 kW) in total. It runs on LiFePo4 batteries from CATL and cannot exceed 200 km/h (124 mph).

Sales will begin in early 2025, Avatr says.
