KGM teams up with Chery on SUV production

KG Mobility – formerly known as SsangYong – and Chery have announced joining efforts to design new mid-size and full-size SUVs.

The Chinese automaker will supply its Korean partner with premade chasses. The first car under this agreement, known under the factory designation “SE-10”, is expected to be ready for shipping before the end of the year. KGM says it will succeed the Rexton SUV (see video).

Aside from chassis and bodywork, the two companies will unite their forces working on self-driving solutions and electronic systems.
