Improvised Porsche 911 Dakar sells for $138k

Porsche hasn’t been making any rally-focused 911 models for a while now, and the handful of Dakar examples in existence cost in the general area of $350,000 nowadays. It’s therefore nice to see tuners building great replicas that sell for six digits owing to the sheer quality of craftsmanship.

This one comes from Fiveninedesigns and is based on the 2021 Porsche 911 Carrera chassis. It features Motion Control Systems coilovers, remote-reservoir shocks, new control arms and 18-inch Rotiform wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country A/T tires. It also benefits from a large number of auxiliary lights all around, a ducktail spoiler and recovery hooks at both ends. “911 Offroad” decals at the sides round off the look.

In turn, the interior gets power-adjustable seats with heating and ventilation features, black leather trim and a handful of light green accents.  The 3.0-liter flat-six takes advantage of better air filters, a Sharkwerks exhaust system and a modern ECU tune. The odometer shows approximately 8,000 km (5,000) miles since new.

The winning bidder on Bring-a-Trailer handed over $138,000.
