WV ID.7 sets a new range record close to 600 miles

A stock Volkswagen ID.7 Pro S significantly exceeded its OEM-rated electric range at the Porsche racetrack in Nardò, Italy this week.

The EV managed to cover 941 kilometers (584.7 miles) on a single charge – much more than its official range rating of 709 km (440.6 mi).

The test crew claims the SUV was completely stock (see video). The driver still had to resort to the usual tricks to squeeze the maximum range from it, including driving at an average speed as low as 29 km/h (18 mph). The energy consumption averaged 9.2 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers.

In last October, a tester managed to get 794 km (493.4 mi) of range out of their ID.7 Pro S driving it on the road in Switzerland.
